When news of Bill Paxton’s passing emerged, there was an outpouring of love and affection that marked the loss of one of the all-time greats. Sometimes when a famous person dies, it really gets you in the gut.

I loved Bill Paxton. A lot. And I know I’m not alone. Paxton had a lot of fans all around the world but especially in New Zealand. There was something about his down-home, good ol’ boy charm that made him every Kiwi’s country cousin.
